Game

Der englische Begriff bezeichnet seit dem 13. Jahrhundert bejagte Tiere, weil man die Jagd als sportliche Disziplin auffasste, wo der Freizeit-Jäger als sportsman bezeichnet wird.

Game bezeichnet:

jagdbare Wildtiere im Unterschied zu Schlachtvieh, cattle
Game parks Wildreservats, Tierparks mit park rangern
game drive, die Pirschfahrt
game walk, den Pirschgang
game meat
- im Unterschied zu bushmeat, der Jagdbeute von Menschen, die im bush leben;
- als Jagdbeute im Unterschied zu 'kill', der von Raubtieren gerissenen Beute.
